Story
JK is off to climb Kilimanjaro!
Yep, I'm taking part in the Climb for a Cure in February 2011. This journey of a lifetime will raise vital funds to support the work of Cure Cancer Australia, who are dedicated to funding outstanding young researchers as they break new ground towards a cure for cancer.
The Climb for a Cure is 7-days trekking up Kilimanjaro to final height of 5895m (it's higher than Everest Base Camp and in the travel info it says temperatures can get to -20C)! We trek and sleep in tents - so I'm definitely jumping in the deep end for my first mountain trek.
Despite that the anticipation of amazing views, meeting a daily challenge, reaching peaks and sharing it with a group of people all committed to such a great cause is very exciting.

It costs $90,000 to fund one researcher for a year and I'm wanting to raise enough to fund over 1.5 months ($10,000) by doing this trip.
Every little bit counts and I'd like to raise $3,000 in donations through this page. All it will take is 100 people to donate $30 (or 50 people to donate $60, but I think that's less likely)!
It’s a tax deductible donation (you’ll be emailed a receipt) and you can do it right here, online, now!
I’d happily accept more donors and if people want to give more than $60, fabulous (no arguments here). If you can’t afford $30, but can give a little less, no worries at all.
